COLLEGE PLACE, Wash. – Five College of Idaho players scored in double figures in helping the Lady Yotes to their highest scoring performance since 2014 en route to ending a seven-game losing streak with a 105-70 victory over Walla Walla University at Windemuth Court.
The Lady Yotes (1-7, 1-1 CCC) surpassed the 100-point mark for the seventh time in program history and first since a 106-72 win over Warner Pacific on Feb. 1, 2014.
Petra Lumpert scored 16 of her season-high 24 points in a dominating third quarter performance, as the Yotes used a 29-5 run over a six minute stretch to turn a 52-40 halftime lead into an 89-53 advantage.
The Wolves (2-6, 0-2) hung around in the first half, thanks to a stellar 57-percent shooting clip – including making 4-of-5 shots from three-point range – but were forced into 21 turnovers after halftime, with their 33 turnovers on the day leading to 46 C of I points.
Jaycin Tini scored 17 points for the Coyotes, with
Allison Law adding 16 points and six rebounds.
Madison Pilster had 15 points and Princess Taimani had 12 points – as C of I made 49-percent of their field goals, recorded 22 steals and and held a 49-31 edge on the glass, including 23 offensive rebounds.
Alyssa Blankenship led WWU with 25 points, but also committed 11 turnovers, with Emily Downs and Lexi Ehlers each scoring 11.
C of I returns home next weekend for games against Northwest Christian on Friday and Corban on Saturday.
