SALEM, Ore. – Four College of Idaho players finished with double-figure kills, but Corban University recorded a season-high 18 team blocks to hold off the Lady Yotes, 25-15, 33-31, 22-25, 25-17, inside C.E. Jeffers Center.
The loss for the Lady Yotes (12-7, 7-4 CCC) ended four-match win streak – as the hosts forced C of I into 38 hitting errors on the night.
Amber Parker had four of her match-high 19 kills in a 10-2 Set 1 surge that built Corban (13-4, 9-2) a 15-6 lead, with the hosts easing toward the opening win.
Set 2 was a marathon, with 20 ties and 11 lead changes. Both teams had four set point chances before an
Alaina Slater spike pulled the Lady Yotes even at 31-all. However, a Parker kill gave the Warriors the advantage, with a combo-block ending the set.
C of I rallied from an early 5-1 deficit in Set 3, taking advantage of seven Corban errors in an 8-1 run to lead 17-12 – winning the run to 25 to force another set.
A
Randi Sturtz kill gave the Coyotes an 11-10 lead in Set 4, but a pair of Corban combo-blocks fueled a game-changing 8-1 run that provided the winning margin.
Brenna Meehan had 16 kills and 11 digs for C of I, with
Ashley Pagan clocking 12 kills and both Sturtz and
Jackie van Vliet each finishing with 10 kills.
Jayde Folsom had 32 assists and
Sydney Call had a career-high 25 assists, with
Cheyan Coburn recording a season-high 21 digs.
Alaina Gentili had 15 kills and six blocks for the Warriors with Marandah Boeder leading all players with 11 total blocks. Setter Madison McLain had 51 assists and Parker led the hosts with 15 digs.
C of I closes out the road trip with a match tomorrow at Northwest Christian.
