EUGENE, Oregon - The College of Idaho fell in four sets (25-20, 25-15, 20-25, 25-22) to Northwest Christian in their first loss in series history (19-1) on Saturday.

The Yotes (12-8, 7-5 CCC) took an early lead over the Beacons (7-11, 5-7) 5-3 after a kill from Alaina Slater from Jayde Folsom. NCU rallied with a 7-1 run to take an 11-7 lead. The Lady Yotes pulled within four points on multiple occasions but dropped the set 25-20.

The Beacons controlled the match throughout the second set, with a stretch of seven straight points to take a 14-5 lead. The Yotes battled back after capturing five out of six points to pull within  eight but ultimately fell 25-15.

The third set remained gridlocked at 13-12 in favor of NCU with neither team gaining a sizable advantage. A kill from Brenna Meehan sparked the Lady Yotes into a 8-0 run, highlighted by three service aces from Meehan. The Yotes held off a four point run by the Beacons and answered with a three point stretch to secure the 25-20 victory.

C of I jumped out to an early lead (9-6) in the fourth set and capitalized on NCU's errors to hold a 15-12 lead. The Beacons responded with an 8-1 run to gain the lead back and eventually won the match 25-22.

Meehan led the match in kills with 14 with Ashley Pagan tied for second with 13. Folsom led the Yotes with 21 assists while Sydney Call tallied 17 assists of her own.

The Lady Yotes recorded 45 kills to the Beacon's 41 and led in assists (43-38) and digs (58-49) as well.

The College of Idaho returns home for a Tuesday home match against Eastern Oregon at 7 p.m. in the J.A. Albertson Activity Center.
