LA GRANDE, Oregon – A late comeback attempt fell short for the Yotes as they fell 2-1 to Eastern Oregon on the road on Saturday.
The Mountaineers (9-5-1, 4-5-1 CCC) netted back-to-back goals in the 29th and 31st minute to claim an early 2-0 lead over the Yotes (4-8, 3-6 CCC).
C of I was held in check through-out most of the match until the 87th when Darion Green tallied his second of the season. However, it proved not to be enough as the Mountaineers held on to the 2-1 victory.
Eastern Oregon recorded 22 shots, nine on goal, to the 11 shots for the Yotes, six on goal. Grant Billings led the match in saves with seven and the Yotes took five corners through-out the match.
The College of Idaho returns home to face Evergreen on Friday, October with the match scheduled to start at noon MST.
