Katelyn Benavidez collected a loose ball in the box inside the final minute of regulation and blasted home the game winner, as the College of Idaho outlasted Warner Pacific, 3-2, at Damazo Field.
The Lady Yotes (6-5, 2-4 CCC) Â built a 2-0 lead, only to watch the hosts respond in the final 20 minutes to get even. Â Following the Knights (4-6-1, 2-4-1) equalizer in the 78th minute, C of I got a free kick from 40 yards out in the waning moments, with
Hailey Woods playing the ball into the middle of the box. Â After a scrum, Benavidez found the ball and laced the ball into the net for the Yotes second-straight win.
C of I jumped out in the second minute as
Maddie Brown jumped on an errant clearance and laced a 15-yard shot into the right corner of the net for a 1-0 lead. Â The Yotes made it 2-0 early in the second half as
Allie Boyd made a great 1-on-1 move down the right side of the box and slotted home a right-footed boot.
