LA GRANDE, Ore. – Payton Parrish hit five first half 3-pointers, helping Eastern Oregon jump out to a 17-point halftime lead, as the Mountaineers defeated the College of Idaho, 73-47, inside Quinn Coliseum.
Box Score Eastern (13-7, 9-2 CCC) scored 28 points off C of I turnovers in completing the season series sweep of their I-84 rivals.
The Yotes (4-13, 3-8) jumped to a 7-3 lead on the strength of a pair of
Madison Pilster buckets and a
Petra Lumpert driving lay-in, but Parrish responded with three consecutive triples, part of an 18-2 run that gave EOU the lead for good.
The Mountaineers limited C of I to just two made field goals in the third quarter, outscoring the visitors 19-4 to put the game away.
Parrish led Eastern with 17 points, with Mariah Swanson coming off the bench to score nine points. The Mounties finished the night shooting 50-percent from the field, including 17-of-24 from 2-point range.
Pilster and
Kellie Ross each had nine points for the Lady Yotes, with
Brittany Wirth adding seven points and four rebounds and
Kiara Skinner scoring six points with six rebounds.
C of I returns to action on Friday, hosting Corban University at 5:30 p.m.
