KIRKLAND, Wash. – Northwest University closed the game with a 15-4 run, lifting the Eagles to a 52-46 victory over the College of Idaho in the regular-season finale inside the NU Pavilion.
The Eagles (12-17, 4-14 CCC) used a stifling defensive effort, holding the Lady Yotes to 2-of-17 shooting over the final 11 minutes to complete a season sweep of C of I.
The Lady Yotes (8-19, 7-11) got seven of Brittany Wirth's 15 points in a 10-2 run early in the second half to take their largest lead of the night at 42-37 with 11:18 remaining. However, C of I managed just an Aleah Lowber lay-up over the next 11 minutes.
Jordan Asher canned a pair of treys, with a Chanara Greene put-back giving the Eagles the lead for good.
Asher led all scorers with 17 points, as NU won despite shooting just 19-of-59 from the field.
Elisha Hensey had 15 points and nine rebounds for the Yotes, who hit 4-of-23 shots from outside the arc in the loss.
C of I finished the regular-season alone in seventh-place in the CCC standings, earning a date with No. 8 ranked Southern Oregon the CCC Championships quarterfinals. Tip-off in Ashland, Ore., is set for Tuesday at 7 p.m. (PT)
