Coyote Seniors Too Much for Corban

CALDWELL, Idaho – The No.4 ranked College of Idaho got 83 points from their seven seniors to run past Corban University 95-76 on senior night inside the J.A. Albertson Activities Center.

Of the seven Coyote (24-4, 13-3) seniors, five of them were in double-figure scoring, led by 21 points from Demetrius Perkins. Josh Wilson recorded 15 points with Jordan O'Byrne and Joe Vaz each scoring 12; Sydney Donaldson rounded out the double-figure scoring 11 points.

The Warriors (14-12, 7-10) were led by Cody Crowe who scored 19 points on just seven shots, getting 15 points from 3-point territory on 5-of-6 shooting from deep. Cyrus Ward scored 14 points with eight rebounds.

After the senior night festivities commenced, C of I came out of the gates blazing, starting the game on a 13-2 run and increased the margin to 15 points just seven minutes into the game.

Corban would cut the deficit to single digits just before the half and found themselves trailing by five points after they made the first basket of the second half.

C of I would extend the lead to double-digits in the following three minutes, going on an 11-4 run and never looked back as they led for all but 51-seconds of the game.

The Coyotes recorded 26 assists with just 5 turnovers, forcing 13 Warrior miscues in the contest.

The seven seniors whom were honored prior to the contest never experienced a regular-season loss inside the J.A. Albertson Activities Center, let alone inside the state of Idaho, as the Coyotes pushed their home court winning streak to 31 games.

That same group tied the record for most wins in a two-year period in program history; both other classes were coached under Marty Holly.

"This group of seniors will go down as one of the best senior classes in the history of the Coyote basketball program," head coach Scott Garson said. "As good of players as they are, they are better people and I hope this season goes as long as possible because I am fortunate to be their coach."

The Coyotes will close out the regular season next weekend when they travel to Washington for a pair of games against Northwest and Evergreen. A win in Washington would clinch at least a share of their second consecutive conference championship with a pair of wins guaranteeing an outright regular season championship and awarding the Coyotes a home game for every contest they play in the post season conference tournament.
