SALEM, Ore. –
Kiara Skinner scored 18 points and
Petra Lumpert added 12, but a Corban University 16-4 run erased a College of Idaho lead, as the host Warriors outlasted the Lady Yotes, 69-63, inside C.E. Jeffers Center.
Box Score Jade Lowery scored 20 points and added 11 rebounds to lead the Warriors (5-6, 1-3 CCC) to their first conference win, rallying from a 39-36 halftime deficit.
The Yotes (2-8, 1-3) led 47-43 midway through the third quarter, before strange sequence gave Corban momentum. An offensive foul on the block wiped out a made 3-point field goal by
Haylee Burnham, while on the ensuing possession, Lowery drained a trey – with a C of I foul in the paint gave the Warriors an extra possession. Sadie Pilgerim canned a triple to cap the swing, giving the Warriors a 49-47 lead – a margin they would extend to 59-51 after two Lowery free throws late in the period.
Pilgerim had 18 points and Payton Wilcox added 17 points and nine rebounds for Corban.
Skinner hit four 3-pointers in the loss for C of I, with Lumpert scoring 10 of her 12 points in the first half, as a 9-0 Coyote run late in the second quarter built a 39-33 lead.
Kellie Ross and Burnham each scored nine points, with
Jaycin Tini adding six points and seven rebounds.
C of I returns to action on Dec. 30, hosting Evergreen at 5:30 p.m.
