CALDWELL, Idaho – Jordan Klebaum scored a game-high 21 points, as Eastern Oregon defeated the College of Idaho, 55-41, in a defensive struggle inside the J.A. Albertson Activities Center.

EOU got 3-pointers from Maloree Moss and Donniesha Webber and a pair of Madaline Laan lay-ups in a 13-2 run to open the game. The Lady Yotes (1-6, 0-1) battled back, scoring eight-straight points, including triples from
Petra Lumpert and
Kiara Skinner to cut the margin to 17-12 at the end of the quarter.
Klebaum took over in the second period, draining back-to-back triples, part of an 8-0 Eastern run, as the Mounties took their largest lead of the night at 34-18 and settled for a 34-23 edge at the break.
C of I outscored EOU 13-10 in the third quarter, with a Lumpert bucket getting the hosts within 40-36, but the Yotes made just two of their final 13 shots and committed eight turnovers over the final 13 minutes, as the Mountaineers pulled away late.
Nikki Osborne had 10 points, eight assists and seven rebounds for EOU, as the Mounties made 7-of-10 3-pointers in the first half, but missed all 10 shots from outside the arc after the break.
Lumpert led the Yotes with 10 points and four steals;
Madison Pilster scored nine points and
Brittany Wirth added eight points and six rebounds in the loss.
The Lady Yotes return to action on Sunday, hosting Walla Walla at 4 p.m.
