Lady Yotes Sweep Multnomah on Senior Night

CALDWELL, Idaho – The College of Idaho sent their three senior student-athletes out in style, winning their sixth-straight match with a 25-17, 25-8, 25-20 victory over Multnomah University inside the J.A. Albertson Activities Center.

The Lady Yotes (16-9, 14-3) got solid performances by their 4-year players as Sierra Porter had 32 assists and 13 digs; Kylie Porter had seven kills in 10 swings; with Emilee Chapman recording six digs and an ace in their final regular-season home contest.  During their career, the trio helped C of I to a 43-9 home record and 3-straight Cascade Conference Tournament titles.

The Lions (2-17, 0-16) played well in stretches, as outside hitter Patty Batoon led all players with 13 kills.

C of I got four kills from Kylie Porter in the opening set to pull away from MU, with Randi Sturtz adding four kills and Abbey Fenton adding three kills in three swings to roll to the Set 2 win.

Set 3 saw the Yotes build a 14-8 lead after a combo block from Sturtz and Alaina Slater, but the Lions rallied.  Three aces by Kiana Miller and a fourth by Batoon evened the score at 15-all.  Tied at 16, a combo-block from Sierra Porter and Jackie van Vliet jumpstarted the Yotes, with three late Kylie Porter kills helped C of I close out the match.

Sturtz led the Yotes with nine kills, with Fenton adding eight and both van Vliet and Katy Robinson recording six.  Cheyan Coburn had a team-high three aces to go along with 12 digs.

MU setter Marissa Rhodes had 20 assists, with both Devyn Sigurdson and Miller logging 10 digs.

C of I hits the road for their final three matches, starting next weekend at Oregon Tech and Southern Oregon.
