Late in the 98th minute, C of I earned a free kick 35 yards from goal, with Hailey Woods playing a cross into the mix. Summer Jackson drove a shot that was blocked by EOU (11-2, 6-2) keeper Jessica Parker off the left post, but a rushing Yizar touched the ball into the net for her 14th goal of 2015 and her NAIA-leading seventh game-winner.
The teams played an even first half, with Jackson giving C of I a great opportunity just one minute into the game – missing just hit on a chip from 15-yards. EOU nearly took the lead in the 37th minute, but Lisa Clausen drove a low liner in the box just left.
The pace picked up in the second half – as C of I's Sydney Woods ripped a shot in the 76th minute that Parker bobbled but smothered, while in the 88th minute, EOU's Zoe Anderson had a 1-on-1 try against keeper Brittany Houghton, with the Coyote netminder using a diving punch to push the shot wide.
C of I finished with a 16-13 edge in total shots, with EOU holding a 5-2 edge in corner kicks. Houghton made two saves in running her scoreless streak in goal to 452 minutes and registered her fifth shutout of the season.
It marked the final home game at Simplot Stadium for seniors Sydney Woods, Brianna Blair, Taylor Fowers, Aurora Ostolasa and Allie Swanson.
The Yotes close out the regular-season with three games in four days – Friday at Evergreen, Saturday at Northwest and Monday vs. Great Falls in Hermiston, Ore.
