KIRKLAND, Wash. – Battling back from a two sets to one deficit, the College of Idaho scored the final 11 points of the match to outlast Northwest University inside the NU Pavilion.
The Lady Yotes (13-9, 11-3 CCC) extended their win streak to 24 against the Eagles with a 16-25, 25-20, 21-25, 25-22, 15-7 victory, overcoming 34 hitting errors.
C of I down a set and trailing 21-17 in Set 4, the Yotes rallied on the serve of Sierra Porter, getting a pair of aces and a pair of Abbey Fenton kills in an 8-1 run to force the winner-take-all run to 15.
In Set 5, the Eagles (13-7, 9-5) jumped out to a 6-2 lead and led 7-4 after a Dakota Adams kill. A Katy Robinson kill got C of I a side-out, with Cheyan Coburn going to work, serving the final 10 points of the match – getting two kills and two blocks from Kylie Porter and a pair of kills from Fenton, including the match clincher.
Fenton led the Yotes with 19 kills, Kylie Porter had 15 kills and a season-high seven blocks, with Randi Sturtz adding 11 kills. Sierra Porter had 50 assists, 13 digs and five blocks, with Kilee Lopez leading all players with 29 digs.
Amanda Waterman led NU with 14 kills and 14 digs, as the Eagles posted nine aces and had 13 team blocks in the loss.
C of I closes out the road trip with a 5 p.m. Saturday match at Evergreen.
