KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – A 13-3 run early in the second half gave Oregon Tech the lead for good, as the No. 21 ranked Owls withstood a gutsy effort by The College of Idaho to move to the Cascade Conference title game with a 77-73 win at Danny Miles Court.
Kassi Conditt scored 21 points, had 20 rebounds, and added seven blocked shots for the Owls (27-5), who will host No. 4 seed Southern Oregon on Monday night.
The Lady Yotes (16-12) controlled the pace early, making 6-of-13 three-point tries in the first 20 minutes – leading by as many as 10 points and taking a 35-31 lead at the break. C of I took advantage of 14 first half turnovers by Tech, turning them into 15 points.
The lead was 44-39 five minutes into the second half, when Conditt scored back-to-back baskets, followed by a Carly Leveque three that gave the Owls the lead. The margin would balloon to nine inside the final three minutes, as the Yotes made just 9-of-34 shots from the field in the second half.
Karissa Dixon had 14 points, seven rebounds, and seven assists for OIT, with Ashleigh Vandenbrink adding 13 off the bench.
Five C of I players scored in double-figures, led by the 20 points and 10 rebounds of Elisha Hensey. Four seniors also finished their careers with solid nights – as Erica Martinez scored 18 points; Chakala Carthen logged her 19th double-double of the year with 11 points and 10 rebounds; Sienna Edmunson scored 10; and Dayna Drager became the ninth member of the 1,000-point club by scoring 10 points, giving her 1,006 points for her career.
