CALDWELL, Idaho – Using their best defensive effort of the season, The College of Idaho clinched the No. 3 seed in next week's Cascade Conference Championships with an impressive 68-50 victory over Northwest University in the J.A. Albertson Activities Center.

The Lady Yotes (15-11, 12-6 CCC) finished in a tie with Southern Oregon for third in the final CCC standings, earning the tiebreak with a better record against teams .500 or better in league action. C of I will earn a quarterfinal rematch with NU on Tuesday night in Caldwell at 7 p.m.

Leading just 41-37 early in the second half, C of I held the Eagles (18-12, 10-8) to just four made field goals and 10 turnovers in the next 15 minutes – methodically putting the game away. Aleah Lowber hit back-to-back three-pointers in a 13-0 run late in the contest that sealed the victory for the Yotes.

Lowber led C of I with 21 points and seven rebounds – including four three-pointers, with Erica Martinez adding 16 points and Elisha Hensey had 11. The Lady Yotes outscored NU 17-6 at the foul line and held a 41-32 rebound edge - as the 50 points allowed was the lowest output by an opponent this season.

The Eagles, who made just 19-of-57 field goals and 6-of-31 three-point tries, were paced by 13 points from Sanda Milovic.

Tickets to Tuesday's playoff game will go on sale Monday morning at 10 a.m. by either visiting the Sports Information Office in the J.A. Albertson Activities Center or by calling 459-5917.
