CALDWELL, Idaho – Connecting on a school-record 18 three-point baskets, The College of Idaho broke the century mark for just the sixth time ever, rolling to a 106-72 win over Warner Pacific, inside the J.A. Albertson Center.
The Lady Yotes (11-10, 8-5 CCC) had six players in double figures, logging the third-highest scoring night in program history – behind the 127 points at Cal State-Monterey Bay and 107 points at Bethany, both during the 2007-08 season. It was the first time C of I eclipsed 100 points in a game at home and the first 100-point contest in five seasons – a 102-89 win over Cal Baptist during the 2008-09 campaign.
Dayna Drager keyed a 24-5 run early in the first half, scoring 10 of her 12 points during the surge, as C of I built a 27-13 lead. The outside barrage picked up late in the half, as the Yotes made six-straight three's – including two each from Haylee Burnham and Elisha Hensey – to push the lead to 53-23.
The Knights (6-17, 2-10) got six points from Janelle Weiss in a 15-2 run that wrapped around both halves, to cut the margin to 55-37. However, Aleah Lowber connected on two treys in a 22-5 C of I run that put the game away.
It was the eighth time this season the Yotes have hit 10-or-more three's in a game, with the 18 three-point baskets surpassing the previous record of 15, set two weeks' ago against Northwest Christian.
Lowber tied a career-high with 21 points, with Hensey scoring 19 points, adding seven assists and six rebounds, while going 5-of-6 from outside the arc. Burnham had a career-high 17 points and six rebounds; Chakala Carthen had 16 points and seven rebounds; Erica Martinez had 11 points; with Sienna Edmunson scoring just four points, but adding eight assists, eight rebounds, and five steals.
Weiss led WP with 18 points, with four different players scoring eight. Both teams committed 25 turnovers on the night.
The Lady Yotes return to action on Friday night, hosting rival Eastern Oregon at 5:30 p.m.
