BOISE, Idaho – The College of Idaho played toe-to-toe with Division I Boise State for the first 10 minutes, but the Broncos drained 12 three-pointers in pulling away for a 91-40 victory at Taco Bell Arena.
The Lady Yotes (2-9), playing the game as an exhibition, hung around early, as a pair of Alicia Jones baskets and two Haylee Burnham three's gave C of I a 15-12 lead, with an Aleah Lowber runner giving the visitors a 17-14 edge at the 13-minute mark.
BSU (6-3) answered in a big way, as Yaiza Rodriguez canned two treys in a 13-0 run that gave the Mountain West Conference team the lead for good. The Broncos used 11 first half offensive rebounds and forced 13 C of I turnovers to take a 43-24 lead to the break.
The Broncos broke the game wide open in the final 20 minutes, canning five three-point baskets in a 27-2 run midway through the period to extend the margin to 78-30.
Miquelle Askew led BSU with 12 points, with Keiahnna Engel and Camille Redmon each scoring 10.
Burnham and Jamieze Yizar each had eight points for the Yotes, with Elisha Hensey scoring six and Lowber contributing six points, seven rebounds, and three steals.
