CALDWELL, Idaho - Ryan Eddy tossed a complete game three-hitter, helping The College of Idaho open its four-game weekend series with the University of Puget Sound with a victory, topping the Loggers, 4-1, at Wolfe Field

The right-hander, who won his fifth-straight decision, allowed an unearned run and walked two in the victory, striking out six men. Eddy allowed just two runners reach third base in the win.
The Coyotes (12-9) jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first inning, as Seth Champlin tripled into the right-center gap and scored on a line drive sacrifice fly from Nick Muncy. The Yotes took advantage of an error in the second to prolong the inning, with Champlin punching a base hit down the right field line, scoring Parker Vernon for a 2-0 lead.
A Muncy RBI single in the fourth extended the Coyote lead to 3-0, making it 4-0 in the sixth on a ringing RBI double to left from Sam Johnston. The Loggers (7-10) got an extra out in the seventh inning and took advantage of it, as Bobby Hosmer lined an RBI single to get UPS on the board, but Eddy struck out Nickolas Alarcio, representing the tying run, to end the threat.
Champlin and Jesse Dodd each had two hits for the Yotes - but The C of I struck out 11 times against right-handers Matt Robinson and Steve Wagar. Robinson took the loss despite six strong innings, allowing seven hits, two earned runs, and seven strikeouts.
The two teams will play a doubleheader tomorrow at Noon, followed by a single-game on Monday at 2 p.m.
