CALDWELL, Idaho – Chakala Carthen scored 16 of her season-high 22 points in the second half, leading The College of Idaho to their sixth-straight win, a come-from-behind 76-66 victory over Corban University, inside the J.A. Albertson Activities Center.

The No. 16 ranked Lady Yotes (17-6, 13-2 CCC) have won 11 of their last 12 games, rallying from an 11-point second half deficit to defeat the defending Cascade Conference regular-season champions.
Warriors’ (7-18, 3-11) post Tara VanWeerdhuizen scored three-straight baskets to open the second half, as Corban used a 13-2 run to take a 47-36 lead. The visitors would lead 53-45 with 12 minutes remaining before the Lady Yotes rallied, as three consecutive Carthen lay-ups got The C of I within 55-53.
Sienna Edmunson gave the Yotes their first lead of the second half at 56-55 on a runner in the lane, but the Warriors responded with an Emily Tsugawa trey to take their final lead at 58-56 with 6:04 left. However, the visitors would watch as the Yotes used a 15-1 run over the next five minutes to put the game away. Felicity Jones and Kylie Hardison each had three-point plays in the surge.
Carthen added 10 rebounds in the victory, with Jones recording 21 points and six assists. Laura Geis had seven points, 11 rebounds, and four blocks, with Katelin Shannon logging eight points, six rebounds, and six assists.
Van Weerdhuizen had 22 points and 12 rebounds for Corban, with Tess Bennett recording 14 points, but the Warriors were plagued by 25 turnovers on the night.
The C of I closes out the regular-season with three-straight road games, beginning Friday night at No. 5 ranked Eastern Oregon.
