LEWISTON, Idaho - Ryne Briley hit a walk-off home run in the bottom of the ninth inning, lifting Concordia University to a come-from-behind 4-3 victory over The College of Idaho in the consolation game of the Guardian Plumbing, Heating, and Air Conditioning Tournament at Harris Field.

The Cavaliers (4-6) rallied from a 3-1 deficit in the latter innings, scoring single runs in the seventh and eighth innings to tie the score. Briley followed, smashing the second pitch of the ninth inning over the wall in left to complete the comeback.
The Yotes (2-6) jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the fourth, as a Gregg Simonds single plated a run, with a second run scoring on the play due to a CU error. A Carl Beckert bases-loaded walk got the Cavs on the board in the fifth, before The C of I answered in the top of the sixth on a Parker Vernon RBI single. A C.J. Watson RBI single in the seventh got the Cavaliers within a run, while a Coyote error in the eighth allowed the tying run to score.
Christian Bannister retired all four men he faced in relief to get the win for CU, after starter Alex Bos went six innings, allowing three runs on eight hits. Michael Garza got a no-decision for the Yotes, allowing a run on three hits, striking out four. Jarel Lewis, making his debut on the mound, took the loss.
Beckert and Briley each had two hits for the Cavaliers in the win - who stranded 14 runners on the afternoon, with Lewis, Simonds, Jesse Dodd, and Sam Johnston each logging two hits for the Yotes.
The C of I returns home next weekend to host Whitman in a four-game weekend series.
