The win for the No. 17 ranked Lady Yotes (19-7, 15-3 CCC) was their 13th win in their last 15 games heading into next week's Cascade Conference Championships. The C of I will open up quarterfinal play at home against No. 7 seeded Northwest Christian at 7 p.m.
The C of I trailed 33-27 early in the second half, but a pair of Dayna Drager jumpers and a Felicity Jones basket got the Yotes even. A Jones lay-up gave the Coyotes a 43-41 lead with 6:45 to play - a lead they would not relinquish, holding the Knights (16-12, 11-7) without a made field goal for the final five minutes of the game.
Jones scored seven of the first 11 points for The C of I, as the Coyotes jumped out to an 11-5 lead, but WP used a 14-4 run to take a 19-15 lead and held a 29-26 edge at the break.
Jones had 18 points to lead the Coyotes, with Katelin Shannon adding 14 points and eight rebounds, and Drager chipping in with eight points. Chelsey Christensen led WP with 23 points and Tori Carroll had 16 points and 13 rebounds in the loss.
Tickets prices for Tuesday's playoff game with NCU will be $12 for reserved seating and $7 for general admission seats.
