Yotes Drop 69-56 Decision at WP, Host Northwest on Wednesday

Box Score PORTLAND, Ore. - Ryan Parks hit four second half three-pointers, including a pair in a late 11-2 Warner Pacific run, as the Knights claimed the Cascade Conference regular-season championship with a 69-56 victory over The College of Idaho inside C.C. Perry Gymnasium.

Box Score

The Knights (23-6, 15-3 CCC) earned the league's automatic berth to the NAIA Division II national championships with the win and the No. 1 seed in next week's CCC Championships.  The Coyotes (15-13, 11-7), who saw a six-game road win streak snapped, earned the No. 4 seed in the league tourney, hosting Northwest University on Wednesday night at 7 p.m.

Leading 31-29 at the break, Parks hit a pair of treys in a 10-2 run to open the half, giving WP a 41-31 lead.  The Yotes would respond, as Ben Van Lith had a dunk and a driving lay-up, cutting the margin to 45-44 with just under 10 minutes to go.  But Parks answered, hitting back-to-back three's and Stephen Harris added a triple, pushing the lead back to 56-46, with the hosts hitting their free throws down the stretch to clinch the win.

Parks and Harris each had 18 points in the victory, as WP forced 22 C of I turnovers.

Antonio Garrett had 19 points and nine rebounds for the Yotes, including 9-of-11 shooting from the floor.  Taylor Pruett had 13 points and Van Lith added 12 points and seven rebounds, but the Coyotes connected on just 4-of-25 three-point attempts and made just 8-of-15 free throws.

Tickets for Wednesday's playoff game will be on sale beginning Tuesday morning in the Activities Center - with reserved tickets $12 and general admission seats $7.
