PORTLAND, Ore. – Zach Peterson made 6-of-10 three-point field goals and scored a career-high 23 points, as The College of Idaho won their sixth-straight road game, stopping Concordia University, 82-72, inside Cavalier Court.

Box Score

With the win, the Coyotes (15-12, 11-6 CCC) clinched a first-round home playoff game Wednesday night against either Northwest or a rematch with the Cavaliers – their first home postseason game since 2007.  It also secured the Yotes first winning season since the 2008-09 campaign.

The C of I jumped out to a 10-2 lead on the strength of three-pointers from Peterson and Sydney Donaldson, with Peterson adding eight-straight points as the lead grew to 21-9.  The Coyotes would lead by as many as 14 in the opening half, before the host Cavaliers (15-12, 9-8) cut the margin to 35-27 at the intermission.

A Willy Ligon trey capped a 9-2 run to open the final 20 minutes, as CU trimmed the margin to 37-36.  However, a Peterson three-point play and back-to-back Curtis Brever three-pointers got the Coyote lead back to double-digits at 53-42.  The margin would be whittled down to 70-65 with 2:32 remaining, but Duncan Koga canned six-straight free throws to seal the victory.

Antonio Garrett had 12 points and eight rebounds and Taylor Pruett added 12 points and seven rebounds in the win.  Donaldson had 11 points and Koga logged nine points and seven assists for the Yotes, who made 11-of-26 three-point baskets.

Adam Herman had 20 points and seven rebounds for the Cavs, with Ligon adding 17 points on 5-of-17 shooting.  CU was held to 38-percent shooting on the night.

The Yotes close out the regular-season tomorrow night at No. 12 Warner Pacific.
