SALT LAKE CITY, Utah - A 15-1 second half run erased a four-point College of Idaho lead, as Montana Tech held on for a 71-68 victory over the Lady Yotes inside Behnken Field House.
The Yotes (0-4) took a 41-37 lead on an Erica Martinez three-pointer with 17:43 left in the game, but Kabri Emerson, Sophia Baetz, and Mandy Machinal all hit three's in the run for the Orediggers.
Tech built a 67-54 lead late, but the Yotes rallied, cutting the deficit to 69-68 on an Aleah Lowber lay-up with four seconds to play. However, Machinal made a pair of free throws and the Yotes did not get a shot off before the final buzzer.
Elisha Hensey led the Yotes with 23 points and nine rebounds, with Martinez scoring 18 - hitting 6-of-10 three-pointers.
Machinal led Tech with 19 points.
