Box Score

CALDWELL, Idaho – Joe Bolin recorded his first collegiate hat trick helping The College of Idaho qualify for the Cascade Conference Tournament with a 4-1 victory over Warner Pacific at Simplot Stadium.

The win by the Coyotes (6-12, 6-8 CCC), coupled with an Evergreen 1-0 loss at Northwest Christian, clinches C of I their first postseason berth since 2010 – traveling to Corban on Tuesday in the CCC Tournament semifinals.

Bolin got the Yotes on the board in the 31st minute as Jamie Valle played a ball to Andres Idoeta in the middle of the field – with his through-ball finding the feet of Bolin in the left corner of the box, with his hard right-footed blast rocketing into the right corner of the goal.

A minute later, Joao Cardoso made it 2-0, making a nifty move at the top of the 18 and lacing a shot into the left corner of the goal.

The Knights (4-12, 3-11) answered in the 40th minute, as Scott Schnitzer pounced on a Abe Kidane shot that clanged off the crossbar, flicking a shot off the left post and in.

C of I put the game out of reach in the 65th minute, as Cardoso touched a free kick to Bolin at the top of the 18, crushing a shot through WP keeper Dorian Lair to make it 3-1. Bolin scored his third goal in the 73rd minute, as Cristian Sanchez chipped a ball to Nicko Moreno, who played a long ball to Bolin, who beat Lair 1-on-1.

The Yotes held an 18-10 edge in total shots with corner kicks even at five.

Playoff game times will be released later tonight by the conference office.
