OLYMPIA, Wash. -
Aleah Lowber scored a career-high 21 points, leading The College of Idaho to a 63-52 victory over Evergreen State, tonight inside the CRC Gymnasium.
Box Score
The sophomore guard scored 16 of her points in the second half, including two key three-pointers late in the contest, as the Lady Yotes (14-6, 10-2 CCC) cliched a berth in the Cascade Conference Postseason Tournament for the 17th time in 18 seasons.
Back-to-back
Jessica Aguilar baskets, a three-point play from
Katelin Shannon, and a Lowber jumper keyed a 9-0 first half run, as the Yotes built an early 18-7 lead. The Geoducks (5-12, 4-9) would battled back, as post Danielle Swain scored six-straight points in a nine-point surge, as ESC closed the margin to 26-21 at the break.
The second half was a struggle for both teams - as the Yotes maintained a lead between five and eight points until a Swain lay-up with 6:24 left cut the margin to 47-43. However, Lowber canned treys on the next two times down floor for the Yotes and The C of I sealed the win at the foul line.
Shannon had 13 points and six rebounds in the win, with post
Laura Geis adding 11 points and seven rebounds.
Swain led the Geoducks with 24 points and 11 rebounds.
The C of I returns to action tomorrow night with a road game at Northwest.
