Lady Yotes Run Home CCC Win Streak to 13

Laura Geis had 19 points and 11 rebounds in win over Evergreen
CALDWELL, Idaho - Laura Geis scored 19 points and had 11 rebounds, as The College of Idaho won their 13th-straight home Cascade Conference game, rolling to a 76-58 victory over The Evergreen State College inside the J.A. Albertson Activities Center.

Geis hit her first six field goals of the night, helping the Lady Yotes (9-5, 5-1 CCC) remain just one game back of first place in the CCC race, while pushing their record to 9-0 this season when scoring 68-or-more points.

The senior had a pair of short jumpers in a 9-2 run that gave The C of I an 18-10 lead with 14 minutes remaining in the first half.  After baskets from Danielle Swain and Jessica Denmon got the Geoducks (2-6, 2-3) within 29-21, the Yotes rattled off seven-straight points, including a three-point play from Dayna Drager to take their biggest lead of the first half and cruised into halftime with a 40-27 advantage.

Evergreen would whittle the lead down to 45-37 on a pair of Sadee Jones free throws with 15 minutes to play, but Felicity Jones answered with a three-pointer and capped a 10-0 run with a three-point play, as the Coyotes put the game away.

Jones had 15 points and five assists in the win, hitting 2-of-3 from outside the arc, with Katelin Shannon adding 12 points and four assists.  The Yotes capitalized on 25 Geoduck turnovers, turning it into 36 points.

Swain had 14 points and six rebounds for Evergreen, with Sammi Clark recording 12 points and six assists, and Denmon scored 10 points and grabbed a team-high nine rebounds.  The Geoducks struggled from outside the arc, going 0-of-12 from long range.

The Lady Yotes will return to the court on Jan. 2 with an exhibition game at NCAA Division I Boise State.
