LA GRANDE, Ore. – College of Idaho's
Hunter Boyd was named Red Lion-NAIA West Grouping Pitcher of the Week, announced by the league information office.
The junior, from Moses Lake, Wash., was dominant in the Coyotes 9-3 victory over Corban on Saturday, picking up his second win of the 2018 season.
The right-hander took a shutout into the ninth inning, allowing just six hits and one walk, striking out eight batters in the victory. Boyd leads C of I with a 3.44 ERA and leads the NAIA West Grouping with 53 strikeouts.
C of I returns to action a week from Tuesday, hosting Lewis-Clark State at 4 p.m.
