Coyote Duo Earn NAIA All-America Honors

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - College of Idaho seniors Aziz Leeks and Roosevelt Adams were honored today as members of the NAIA Division II Men's Basketball All-America Team, released by the national office.

Leeks was named a first-team selection, becoming just the fifth player in the over 100-year history of the program to be honored as an first-team pick.  The forward, from Las Vegas, Nev., averaged 11.9 points and 9.4 rebounds per game, leading the Yotes in field goal percentage (.547). He finished the season with 347 rebounds - the most by a Coyote since 1972, while recording the most offensive (109) and defensive (238) rebounds since the statistic was separated in 1986.

The Cascade Conference Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year joins Elgin Baylor (1955), Jimmy Kolyzsko (1996), Tom Perkes (2004) and Josh Wilson (2015) as the only C of I players to earn first-team honors. Leeks finishes his career with 85 blocked shots (No. 8 all-time) and 576 rebounds (No. 12 all-time)

Adams was named to the honorable mention list after averaging a team-high 13.1 points and adding 6.3 rebounds. The guard, from Hemet, Calif., made a team-best 85 3-pointers on the year, connecting on .443 percent of his shots outside the arc.  The All-CCC pick capped his career with 138 3-pointers made (No. 17 all-time), making .399 percent of his 3-point attempts (No. 18 all-time).

Cornerstone forward Kyle Steigenga was named NAIA Player of the Year, with Indiana Wesleyan's Greg Tonagel was named Coach of the Year.
