Coyotes Pick Up Hardware at NAIA Championships

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - The accolades continued for the 2017-18 College of Idaho men's basketball team following a run to the national semifinals of the NAIA Division II Men's Basketball Championships.

Following tonight's championship game, NAIA championship event director Mark Burchard and Tournament Director Tim Evans named the Coyotes the 2018 Dr. James Naismith/Emil Liston Team Sportsmanship Award. The honor is given each season to one of the 32 teams in the tournament that best exhibits respect, civility, integrity and fair play.

C of I also had two players named to the All-Tournament Team - as guard Roosevelt Adams and forward Aziz Leeks were among the 11 athletes honored for their efforts in the tournament. Adams averaged 12 points and seven rebounds and Leeks averaged 11 points and seven rebounds in the Coyotes four games inside the Sanford Pentagon.

The Yotes closed the season with a 30-7 overall record - tied for the second-most wins in the over 100-year history of the program, making the deepest run in the NAIA Championship by a Cascade Conference team since 2012.
