CALDWELL, Idaho – A 20-3 run to open the game helped the College of Idaho complete a weekend sweep at home, as the Lady Yotes rolled to a convincing 73-44 victory over Multnomah University inside the J.A. Albertson Activities Center.
The Lady Yotes (3-12, 3-6 CCC) did not allow MU to make a field goal over the first eight minutes of the game – with the hosts getting 3-pointers from
Alyssa Case, Keahi Roy,
Jocelyn Cook-Cox and
Hannah Maupin to sprint to the big lead.
The Lions (0-19, 0-9), who dropped their 20th-straight game, pulled within 31-17 with 1:39 left in the second quarter, but Case and Roy converted lay-ups and
Madison Holly hit a triple, as C of I pushed the margin to 38-19 at the half.
C of I put the game away late in the third quarter, as
Makenna Schritter scored the final seven points of the frame – including a three-point play – to lead 61-31.
Roy led the Yotes with 14 points, with Case scoring 12 points with seven rebounds and
Sophia Jackson adding a career-high 12 points. Cook-Cox scored 10, with both Schritter and Maupin tallying seven. The Yotes hit 47-percent of their field goals and forced 16 turnovers.
Rachelle Tau had 11 points to lead MU, with Faith Kraatz scoring nine points and leading all players with 14 rebounds. The Lions made just 13 field goals on the night, but converted 16-of-24 free throws.
