LA GRANDE, Ore. - For the third time this season, College of Idaho forward
Joey Nebeker has been honored as Red Lion-Cascade Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week, announced this morning by the league information office.
The junior, from Melba, helped the Yotes remain unbeaten at home in the conference season with victories over Evergreen and Northwest. Â He averaged 28 points and eight rebounds per game, making 18-of-34 field goals - including seven 3-point baskets.
Against Evergreen, Nebeker scored 34 points and had six rebounds in the 88-81 win. Â It was his fourth game in 2015-16 with 30-or-more points scored.
One night later, he recorded his second double-double of the year, notching 22 points and 11 rebounds in the Yotes 87-85 victory.
Nebeker, who ranks second in the CCC with a 21.8 points per game scoring average, added 15 points last Monday in C of I's exhibition game at the University of Utah.
The Coyotes return to action this Friday at Multnomah University - with the game carried live in the Treasure Valley on the ESPN Boise platform (96.5-FM / 730-AM / ESPNBoise.com).
