Madison Machurek

AT COLLEGE OF IDAHO: Machurek joined the Yotes Beach Volleyball team in early 2023 to build the first team for their inaugural season in 2024. After having immediate success, she was named Cascade Collegiate Conference Coach of the Year in 2024. Under her leadership, the 2024 team finished third in a highly competitive CCC and received votes in the national coach's poll. The impressive season earned the team an invite to the CCC/Cal Pac National qualifier in San Diego, California. She mentored the Offensive Player of the Year, an All-Conference Pairing, and an All-Conference Honorable Mention in her first year.

PRIOR TO C OF I: Machurek returned to C of I after serving as the head indoor and beach volleyball coach at NCAA Division II LaGrange College. While at LaGrange, she guided the indoor-volleyball team to three-straight USA South Tournament appearances. She was instrumental in the development of the beach volleyball program that began play in the spring of 2020. Prior to LaGrange, she served as an assistant coach and the team’s strength and conditioning coach at NCAA Division III Marietta University. Before her collegiate coaching start, she resided in Austin, Texas where she led the programs at Athlos Leadership Academy, St. Gabriel Catholic School, and coached with Austin Juniors Volleyball Club. Early in Machurek's coaching career, she coached at the high school level serving as an assistant coach at Vallivue High School (Caldwell, ID) which made three straight state tournament appearances. She also coached with the Boise River and Idaho Crush club teams. 

PERSONAL: Machurek was a standout for the Yotes indoor volleyball team from 2007-10, earning all-Cascade Collegiate Conference honors in 2009 and 2010 and all region in 2010. The College of Idaho won four-straight CCC regular season titles and twice was conference tournament champions on its way to a 100-29 overall record. She graduated in 2011 with her bachelor’s in physical education and minors in coaching and psychology. During her high school career, she led Eagle High School to an undefeated season and the first of four consecutive state championships in 2007. Machurek capped her scholastic career by earning state Player of the Year honors that season.
