Maddison Rice

AT COLLEGE OF IDAHO: Maddison Rice returned to her alma mater in the summer of 2025 as Head Swimming & Diving Coach as well as the Director of Aquatics. In her debut season, the Yotes produced two NAIA National Championship qualifiers, earned third-place finishes on both the men's and women's sides at the conference championships, and saw multiple long-time program records fall. Rice continues to build the Yotes' program through a commitment to student-athlete development, competitive excellence, and a culture centered on hard work, accountability, and team success.

PRIOR TO C OF I: Before returning to the College, Rice led the Mountain View High School (Meridian, Idaho) swim program. She led the boys varsity team to its first ever district and state championship in 2025 and she was recognized as the 2025 Boys Varsity Swimming SIC Coach of the Year. She also led the JV program to back-to-back district championships. Rice grew up swimming in the Boise area. She competed for Streamliner Aquatics and Mountain View High School. She helped set two Idaho state records in the 200 medley relay and 400 free relay. Outside the pool, she worked at the Idaho Department of Education, providing administrative support to the special education team and gaining valuable insight into systems supporting students across the state.

PERSONAL: As a former standout for the Yotes from 2019 to 2022, Rice leads with a decorated history as a swimmer. She qualified for nationals each year as well as earned two All-American nods. She graduated summa cum laude with a bachelors in psychology and held a membership to Psi Chi, the International Honors Society in Psychology.
