Erick Hernandez, originally from Burbank, California, began coaching at John Burroughs High School in Burbank, where he served as the Wide Receiver Coach from 2019 to 2020. Erick joined The College of Idaho football staff in 2024, serving as the Wide Receiver Coach and Pass Game Coordinator.
In 2021, Erick transitioned to collegiate coaching at Eastern New Mexico University (DII), where he spent two seasons as the Running Backs Coach. During his time there, he coached players like Isaiah Tate and Howard Russell, both of whom received All-LSC honorable mention honors.
Most recently, Erick served as the Tight Ends/Fullbacks Coach at the University of Findlay (DII) during the 2023 season. At Findlay, he coached Senior Tight End Michael Rigerman, who earned multiple honors, including All-American, All-Region, G-MAC Offensive Player of the Year, and 1st Team All-G-MAC. Rigerman’s performance led to his signing with the Baltimore Ravens.
Erick holds a Master of Arts in Communication from Eastern New Mexico University, completed in 2023, and a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from California State University, Northridge, earned in 2021. His combined experience and education support his contributions to the football coaching field.
