Ben Bradley

Ben Bradley joined the College of Idaho as the assistant head coach of the track and field and cross country programs in the fall of 2022. Bradley directly coaches the sprints, jumps, hurdles, and multis while assisting with the throws and cross country.

At C of I: 2022-2024: During their first two seasons at the helm of the C of I track and field and cross country programs, Head Coach Dominic Bolin and Coach Bradley have led the teams to 1 XC Women’s NAIA National Championship Team, 19 XC All-Conference performances, 2 XC Women’s Cascade Collegiate Conference Championship Teams, 2 XC Women’s Cascade Collegiate Conference Championship Individuals, 10 XC All-American performances, 11 Indoor Track & Field School Records, 13 Indoor Track & Field All-American performances, 1 Women’s Indoor Track & Field Individual NAIA National Champion, 12 Outdoor Track & Field School Records, 43 Outdoor Track & Field All-Conference performances, 8 Outdoor Track & Field Cascade Collegiate Conference Individual Champions, 15 Outdoor Track & Field All-American performances, and 1 Outdoor Track & Field Individual NAIA National Champion.

Prior to C of I: 2013-2022: Bradley began coaching at Pendleton High School in Pendleton, OR, as the assistant sprints and relays coach from 2013-2014 and then took over the position as the hurdles coach from 2015 to 2022. From 2019 to 2022, Bradley was also the assistant head coach for the PHS track and field program. On the cross country side, Ben was an assistant coach for Pendleton High School Cross Country from 2014 to 2017 and took over as the head coach for the PHS XC program from 2018 to 2022. Bradley founded and operated his own summer track and field club team known as the Rising Phoenix Track Club in Pendleton, OR, from 2015 to 2022. In 2016, Coach Bradley also took over as the president and head coach of the not-for-profit youth track and field fundamentals and fundraising program, the Round-Up City Racers, in Pendleton, OR. During his tenure with Pendleton High School as the hurdles coach and cross country assistant/head coach, and as head coach for the Rising Phoenix Track Club, Bradley coached 40 5A State Championship Qualifiers, 14 CRC/IMC District Champions, 1 Individual 5A State Champion, 20 USATF Regional Junior Olympic Qualifiers, 16 USATF Regional Junior Olympic Finalists, 9 USATF National Junior Olympic Qualifiers, 7 AAU National Junior Olympic Qualifiers, 2 USATF National Junior Olympic All-Americans, and 1 NSAF Nike Outdoor National All-American.

2011-2012: Bradley began his coaching career as the program director and head coach for the Boys & Girls Club of Corvallis Youth Track & Field Program. During his two years at the BGCC, Bradley grew the program from less than 10 to 30+ participants and restructured/organized the meet scheduling and result-keeping methods for the entire league.

Education: Coach Bradley is a massive believer in continual education and the power of “Always Be Learning”. Bradley attended Cascade College in 2008 where he competed in both cross country and track and field. After the closure of Cascade College following the 2008-2009 school year, Coach Bradley continued his undergraduate studies at Oregon State University and completed his Bachelors of Science degree in Health Studies online through the University of the People.

Coach Bradley holds USA Track & Field (USATF) Level Two Coaching Certifications in the Sprints/Hurdles/Relays, Endurance Events, Throws, Jumps, and in Youth Specialization; ALTIS coaching certifications in the Short Sprints, Horizontal Jumps, Javelin & Hammer, Pole Vault, Shot Put & Discus, and Sprint Hurdles; U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Specialist Certifications in Strength and Conditioning, Sprints/Hurdles/Relays, and Jumping Events. Over the course of his career, Ben has had the opportunity to be mentored by several incredible coaches. In 2019, Bradley was one of four coaches in the U.S. to receive a USATF Fall Master Coach Mentorship Coaching Enhancement Grant and the opportunity to learn from Coach Darryl Woodson and his professional training group in Arlington, TX. Throughout 2023, Coach Bradley completed the ALTIS Mentorship Phase One: The Essentials, the ALTIS Mentorship Phase Three: Mastery with Coach Dan Pfaff, and attended the ALTIS Apprentice Coach Program in Atlanta, GA. During the same year, Coach Bradley was one of eight coaches in the U.S. to be selected to receive a USATF National Championship Mentorship Grant and the opportunity to shadow the University of Iowa’s head coach, Joey Woody, and his professional and collegiate training groups throughout the 2023 USA Outdoor National Championships and 2023 U20 Outdoor National Championships in Eugene, OR.
