Biography

AT COLLEGE OF IDAHO: Clifford is in his fourth season with the Coyote swim program; heads into his senior season with 13 NAIA All-America honors, the most in program history.

2019-20: Had the most dominant season in program history, establishing school records in the 50-yard freestyle (20.96), 200-yard freestyle (1:38.96), 200-yard butterfly (1:49.73) and 200-yard IM (1:49.31); earned All-America honors with fourth-place finishes at the NAIA Championships in the 200-yard butterfly and 200-yard IM, while winning the consolation final in the 200-yard freestyle; was part of four relay teams that earned All-America honors, including setting school records in the 400-yard medley and 800-yard freestyle events; named to the NAIA Scholar-Athlete Team, a CoSIDA NAIA Academic All-District 4 and first-team CoSIDA Academic All-American.

2018-19: Established five school records on the season and earned three NAIA All-America honors; placed third in the championship final of the 200-yard freestyle (1:40.38) and eighth in the championship final of the 200-yard butterfly (1:50.20) at Nationals, while finishing second in the consolation final in the 200-yard IM (1:52.43); helped the 200-yard freestyle relay place fourth nationally; set school records of 46.21 seconds in the 100-yard freestyle and 57.20 seconds in the 100-yard breaststroke at the Logger Invitational; earned Google Cloud Academic All-District 4 and second-team Google Cloud Academic All-America honors.

2017-18: Had the most decorated season by a C of I men's swimmer, earning a combined five All-America honors at the NAIA Championships, while breaking a combined nine school records; placed fourth in the finals of the 200-free (1:41.02) and sixth in the finals of the 200-fly (1:51.83), while winning the consolation final of the 200-IM (1:53.22) - breaking the school record in each race; was a part of the school-record setting 200-medley, 400-medley, 200-free, 400-free and 800-free relay teams, establishing a new 100-free school record (46.29) in the 400-free relay finals.

HIGH SCHOOL: A 2017 graduate of Renaissance High - but competed for the Meridian High team, where he competed for the swim team; won the 100-fly (51.22) and placed second in the 200-free (1:42.96) at the 2016 Idaho State High School Swim Championships; also competed for Streamliner Aquatics, where he recorded a personal best time of 1:55.54 in the 200-IM.

PERSONAL: Studying chemistry and mathematics.
