Biography

COLLEGE OF IDAHO: Otero is in her third season with the Coyote track and field program.

2016: Had a banner sophomore season, earning All-America honors in the discus after placing fifth at the NAIA Outdoor national championships; won the Cascade Conference title in the discus, while placing fifth in the shot put and seventh in the hammer throw; holds the school record in the discus (46.84 m / 153-8 1/4) and had top marks of 11.43 m / 37-6 in the shot put and 38.69 m / 126-11 in the hammer; named the CCC All-Academic Team.

2015: Qualified for the CCC Championships in the shot put and discus; set the then discus (41.90 meters) and hammer (37.67) school records.

HIGH SCHOOL: A 2014 graduate of Vallivue High, where she placed in both throws at the 5A state championships as a junior and senior; took sixth in the shot put (35-feet, 11-inches) and fourth in the discus (personal best of 139-feet, 7-inches) in 2014; also played soccer as a prep.

PERSONAL: Studying chemistry and biology; daughter of Sam and Sandra Otero.
