WALLA WALLA, Wash. – The College of Idaho women's tennis team shook off an early scare in doubles and rolled to a 6-1 victory over the University of Puget Sound on Friday in a neutral-site match hosted by Whitman College.
Despite trailing in all three doubles matches at different points, the Yotes rallied to sweep the doubles point and seize early momentum. The comeback began at No. 1 doubles, where Hristina Ljuba and Lina Boylan battled back to secure the first win of the day. The No. 2 pair of Kinsey Lockhart and Alyssa Johnson followed shortly after, before Elizabeth Sagehorn and Alissa Rautenberg completed the doubles sweep at No. 3.
College of Idaho carried that momentum into singles play, where the Yotes dominated across the lineup. Boylan, Ljuba, Lockhart, Johnson, and Sagehorn all cruised to straight-set victories, with none allowing their opponents to score more than two games in a set.
The win pushes the Yotes forward as they continue their road trip in the Pacific Northwest.
College of Idaho returns to the court Saturday when it faces host Whitman College.
