CALDWELL, Idaho — The College of Idaho women's soccer team continued its dominant run through Cascade Conference play with a convincing 3-0 victory over Bushnell University Saturday afternoon at Simplot Stadium. The win marked the Yotes' fifth straight triumph and improved their overall record to 7-1-0.
The Yotes wasted no time asserting control, outshooting the Beacons 32 to 1 and earning seven corner kicks while allowing none. Their offensive pressure paid off in the 22nd minute when Abbi Roubidoux found the back of the net for her seventh goal of the season, finishing a well-placed assist from Eden Makaafi.
Just over ten minutes later, Alondra Osuna doubled the lead with her first goal of the year, set up by a precise pass from Natasja Davis. Osuna returned the favor in the 40th minute, assisting Davis on a third goal that was also helped along by Isis Villafane. Davis now has six goals on the season, and her impact was felt throughout the match.
Goalkeeper Alivia Brenchley earned her fifth win and second shutout of the season, making one save in a composed 90-minute performance. Bushnell's keeper Ana Augusto was tested repeatedly, making 11 saves to keep the scoreline from growing even wider.
In total, 27 Yotes saw action in the match, showcasing the team's depth and versatility. Alondra Osuna led all players with three shots on goal, while Reagan Flynn and Eden Makaafi each contributed two. The Yotes' defensive unit held firm, allowing just one shot on target and keeping Bushnell from generating any sustained attack.
The College of Idaho will return to Simplot Stadium on Thursday, October 3rd, for a highly anticipated matchup against Eastern Oregon University. Kickoff is scheduled for 4 p.m.
