KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. - The College of Idaho softball team saw its run in the Cascade Collegiate Conference Championships come to a close Saturday, falling 7-0 to No. 4-ranked and second-seeded Southern Oregon at Stilwell Stadium.
The Yotes held the Raiders scoreless through three innings before Southern Oregon broke through with a two-run fourth and added insurance over the next two frames. C of I starter Grace Neer kept the Yotes within striking distance early, but the Raiders pulled away late.
Lolo Walker tallied the Yotes' only hit of the game, while the offense showed resilience in the box, drawing three walks against SOU ace Ayla Davies.
Despite the loss, the Yotes put together a strong postseason showing and will now await the NAIA National Championship selection show next week, hopeful for an at-large bid that would extend their season on the national stage.
