Yotes Pounce on Opportunity, Earn 5th Straight CCC Championship Appearance

MEDFORD, Ore. — The College of Idaho women's soccer team is championship-bound once again.

Behind a relentless offensive attack and a rock-solid defensive performance, the Yotes stormed past Rocky Mountain College 4-0 in the Cascade Collegiate Conference semifinal Monday afternoon at Lithia & Driveway Fields. The win sends C of I to its fifth consecutive CCC Tournament Championship match, where the Yotes will look to complete a historic three-peat of both the regular season and tournament titles.

Gianna Yslava led the charge with a brace, scoring in each half to bring her season total to 10 goals. The sophomore forward opened the scoring in the 25th minute with a stunning 25-yard strike that curled inside the right post. She added her second in the 68th minute, finishing a free kick from Kyndra Lyons to put the game out of reach.

Yslava wasn't the only Yote making noise. Abbi Roubidoux netted her 16th goal of the season early in the second half, finishing a pinpoint pass from Natasja Davis. Lyons capped the scoring in the 76th minute with a 23-yard rocket off an assist from Roubidoux.

The Yotes outshot the Battlin' Bears 20-10 and held a 10-4 edge in shots on goal. Alivia Brenchley earned the win in goal, making four saves to secure the clean sheet.

With the win, The College of Idaho (17-2-0) advances to Wednesday's CCC Championship match, where they will face the winner of Southern Oregon and Eastern Oregon. Kickoff is set for noon Mountain Time.

A win would give the Yotes their third straight CCC Tournament title and further cement their dominance atop the conference.
