LA GRANDE, Ore. — The College of Idaho volleyball team dropped a three-set match to No. 2 Eastern Oregon on Wednesday night, 25-19, 25-23, 25-16, at Quinn Coliseum.
The Yotes (15-9, 9-8 CCC) put together a strong effort against one of the top teams in the NAIA, highlighted by a .412 hitting percentage in the second set. Senior Mia Hutchinson led the attack with 14 kills and 10 digs, while Abigail Flerchinger added seven kills and Alexa Wheeler hit .333 with five kills. Setter Madeline Lee paced the offense with 20 assists and two service aces, and libero Kadence Boyd recorded 16 digs.
Despite the Yotes' improved rhythm midway through the match, the Mountaineers (23-2, 15-2 CCC) controlled the key points behind a balanced attack that produced a .310 hitting percentage. Kiauna Mack and Keira Vaughn led Eastern Oregon with nine and 10 kills, respectively.
The College of Idaho returns home to Caldwell before a roadtrip to Portland, Ore. to continue Cascade Conference play.
