CALDWELL, Idaho - The No. 15 College of Idaho showed resilience in front of a home crowd Wednesday night, but top-ranked Eastern Oregon held off late rallies to secure a 25-14, 25-21, 25-21 Cascade Conference win inside the J.A. Albertson Activities Center.
The Yotes (10-6, 4-5 CCC) found their rhythm in the second and third sets after a slow start, pulling within four late in both frames before the Mountaineers closed out each with key points.
Mia Hutchinson powered the C of I offense with 10 kills and added 10.5 total points. Abigail Flerchinger was efficient with eight kills on .286 hitting, while Cierra Bohrn chipped in seven kills and three digs. McWilliams paced the attack with 24 assists and 12 digs, while libero Liza Montalbo added 11 digs and an ace. Defensively, Cora Young recorded five blocks, including four assists.
Eastern Oregon (17-0, 9-0) remained unbeaten with 38 kills and 11 service aces, led by Keira Vaughn's 11 kills. Kiauna Mack and McKenzie Jonas combined for 14 kills on better than .330 hitting, while setter Kate Stidham added 23 assists and four aces. Ava Semprimoznik chipped in 13 assists, three aces and seven digs.
The Yotes will host Warner Pacific (Ore.) on Friday at 6pm to close out another week of CCC competition.
