Yotes Score Barrage of Goals in Hailstorm

CALDWELL, Idaho  — The No. 11 College of Idaho women's soccer team capped off a perfect regular season by defeating Multnomah University 7-0 on Saturday, extending their winning streak to 25 consecutive Cascade Collegiate Conference games. The victory ensured the Yotes finished the 2024 regular season with an impressive 14-0-2 overall record and a flawless 12-0-0 mark in conference play.

The match at Simplot Stadium featured a hail storm in the first half and standout performances, including two goals from Larissa Wegner and one from Alexis Eiguren, who also contributed an assist. Natasja Davis opened the scoring just 1:42 into the game, with further contributions from Eden Makaafi, Allison Moultray, and Larissa Wegner in the second half.

Prior to the game, the team honored six seniors: Larissa Wegner, Alexis Eiguren, Isabel DeVille, Delaney Reed, Isabella Chianta, and team manager Barrett Coyle. Their leadership has been pivotal in maintaining the team's strong performance over the past two seasons.

The Yotes dominated the match with 40 shots, 23 of which were on goal, compared to Multnomah's five total shots. Isabella Chianta recorded three saves in goal for the Yotes, while Jennifer Alvillar made 16 saves for Multnomah.

With this victory, the College of Idaho solidified their status as a powerhouse in women's soccer. The set the stage for the upcoming CCC Championship Tournament in Medford Oregon starting November 10th where they will come in with the No. 1 seed.
