No. 6 College of Idaho forced a winner take all final game against host No. 7 Baker on Wednesday, coming inches shy of a walk-off, three-run home run as the host Wildcats rallied for a 5-3 win in the contest. With runners on first and second and two out, junior
Kaily Christensen hit a fly ball to one of the deepest part of Cavaness Field that Baker center fielder Parker Straight made a leaping grab at the fence to rob the home run and end the season for the Yotes.

College of Idaho (49-10) started the day with a 4-2 win over Baker to force the winner-take-all championship nightcap. Freshman
Madelyn Powell had a pair of hits, including a solo homerun and a RBI single to lead the attack. Senior pitcher
Katelyn Wilfert controlled the contest in the circle, allowing three hits and helping her own cause with a two-RBI single in the fourth inning. With the win, she wraps up the season with a 21-3 mark and
Hannah McNerney got the final out for her first save.
Â
Baker (47-10) punched its ticket in comeback fashion in the winner take all contest. The Wildcats erased a 3-1 deficit with three-run fifth inning and an insurance run in the sixth en route to the 5-3 win.
Â
In the winner-take-all contest, College of Idaho erased a 1-0 deficit in the bottom of the third when graduate student
Tanner Higgins went deep for a three-run blast over the center field wall. Higgins and Christensen each finished the game with two hits in the contest. Also for the Yotes, McNerney was the tough-luck loser as she allowed six hits, striking out five in the loss.
