No. 6 College of Idaho Takes Advantage of Miscues by Valley City State in 4-1 Victory

Baldwin City, Kan. - Haley Loffer and Kaily Christensen each had two hits to lead No. 6 College of Idaho (No. 1 seed) to a 4-1 win over Valley City State (N.D.) (No. 4 seed) on Monday afternoon.

Loffer started the bottom of the first with a leadoff walk for College of Idaho as she later came in to score on a RBI ground out by Tanner Higgins.

Following the recipe of the season, College of Idaho had outscored its opponents, 63-19 in the fourth and 65-12 in the fifth showed that there was ample fight in the experienced dugout for the Yotes. With Christensen on second after a walk and a ground out, she came around to score after an error on a ball hit by Lindsey Jones by the Vikings to put College of Idaho back in front.

With a 2-1 lead in the fifth, the Yotes again took advantage of miscues by the Vikings, who had three errors in the inning as they plated two runs on just one hit. Both runs came when College of Idaho had runners on the corners and errant throws to get the Yotes at second went into the outfield to plate the runner from third and stretch the lead to 4-1.
