CALDWELL, Idaho – In a rare tripleheader, No. 12 College of Idaho took all three games against Providence (Mont.) on Friday afternoon. The Yotes were victorious by scores of 4-1, 7-1, 11-2 (5 innings) over the visiting Argos.
Game one saw College of Idaho plate a pair of runs in the first and fourth inning on its way to a 4-1 win. Five-different Yotes had a hit, including lead-off batter
Haley Loffer, who had two RBI in the win.
Hannah McNerney went the distance for her 15
th win of the season, allowing seven hits and striking out five in the win.
The second game was controlled by the Yotes, who scored two in the first and third inning and three more in the second inning en route to the 7-1 win.
Hallie Holland and Loffer had each had two hits and
Kaylee MacDannald provided two RBI in the win. College of Idaho starting pitcher Katelyn Wifert raised her record to 13-2 with the complete game, allowing three hits an unearned run.
The third game was an offensive explosion for College of Idaho with 11 hits on its way to an 11-2 win.
Lexi Navarrete went 3-for-3 with two runs scored and three RBI, MacDannald went 2-for-2 with four RBI to give plenty of offensive support to starting pitcher
Annie Polster, who picked up her second win on the season after allowing five hits, two runs (both earned) and three strikeouts.
Next, College of Idaho will travel to Ashland to face No. 5 Southern Oregon. The series will start on Friday, Apr. 7 at 2 p.m. (PST)/3 p.m. (MT).
