WALLA WALLA, Wash. - A .433 hitting percentage led College of Idaho to a 25-14, 25-17, 25-12 win over host Walla Walla on Friday afternoon.
Jade Warren and
Janae Rayborn led the attack with 12 and 10 kills, respectively.
College of Idaho (17-12, 15-6 CCC) trailed just three times in the straight-set victory. Warren and the Yotes frontline recorded 5.5 blocks and four service aces in the win.
Walla Walla (1-21, 1-20 CCC) was led by a 10-kill effort from Natalia Jimenez.
The Yotes started the match, hitting .429 in the first set with Warren pounding down four kills with three each from
Shelbey Nichol and
Haley McUne.
Clair Hodge and McUne each had three digs in the set.
The second set saw three lead changes and the set tied on six occasions as College of Idaho came away with a 25-17 win. Five kills by
Gabriella Rios and four from
Janae Rayborn paced the attack. Rios also had five digs and
Alexa Wheeler and
Isabella Berensen teamed up for a pair of blocks.
The third set was tied twice before College of Idaho pulled away with the 25-12 win to clinch the match. Warren came back with five kills and Rios added four more in the set. Rayborn also had five digs and a service ace by Rayborn and
Avery Lovett led the offense.
Next, College of Idaho will wrap up the regular season on Saturday with a 5 p.m. matchup at Lewis-Clark State.
