CALDWELL, Idaho – Visiting Oregon Tech rallied for a 23-25, 25-18, 25-23, 25-20 win over host College of Idaho on Friday night in a CCC matchup.
College of Idaho (4-11, 3-5 CCC) was paced by a 12-kill effort from
Janae Rayborn, who hit at a .117 clip. The 'Yotes utilized a two-setter attack in the loss,
Analise Hitchcock and
Sydnee Steel had 23 and 18 assists, respectively. Steel added 18 digs for her first double double of the season.
Chayla Slavin was a formidable presence on the frontline, recording three block solos and six block assists as College of Idaho had 13 team blocks.
Oregon Tech (7-7, 4-4 CCC) was able to land three players in double digits in kills with Nicole Reyes (15), Ashley Ripplinger (13) and Kelsey Talonen (13) in the win. Courtney Isom had a double double with 38 assists and 17 digs for OIT. Libero Aubrey Klevit kept multiple rallies in play with her play with a match-high 23 digs. The Owls made it tough for the College of Idaho attack as they posted 11 blocks with five block assists from Kate Hicks and four from Molly Grace.
Next, the College of Idaho was slated to face Southern Oregon University on Saturday. However, the Raiders are unable to field a team for this weekend's competition due to CoVID, the Cascade Collegiate Conference announced on Thursday. Per CCC guidelines, if a school must stop play because of a CoVID-19 outbreak or cannot field a full team, then forfeits shall be awarded for any game(s) that a school misses while unable to play. Therefore, this impacts, the matchup between the Raiders and the College of Idaho volleyball team on Saturday night at 7 p.m.
